Vibration Training FAQ's

Are there any age limits to using Vibration Training?
  • As long as there is trained supervision, children as young as 12 can use Vibration Training and experience the benefits. All training should be done while the Vibration Platform is in 'Low Mode'; and the duration and frequency should be adapted to the specific person involved. We suggest some supervision is needed to ensure proper usage is continued. As for those individuals who could be classed as aged, we encourage the use of the Vibration Platform with reference to the research into aged care and the benefits of Vibration training, with some cautions: please be sure that you are at all time well balanced while using the platform and that if you have any issues with unsteadiness, please make sure you are supervised when training. If in doubt use a chair or sit on the machine until you are used to it's use and limit your training to 2 to 3 times a week which will still bring great benefits to you.
Can I use the Vibration Platform to increase my flexibility?
  • The Vibration Platform utilises the Janda Stretch approach to increase joint mobility. In this process the muscle contracts and relaxes and this stretch is registered by the muscle spindles which then send information about the muscle back to the central nervous system. This signals are recieved by the brain which reacts with signals through the spinal cord and causes a reflex contraction of the muscles involved. When standing on the platform this happens in all muscles all over the body at once, fully mobilising and stretching every muscle and joint in the body.It has been noted that during training on a platform adhesions can be loosened by the vibration with can also help to increase flexibility. Added benefits have been noted as teh Golgi apparatus is also activated during training, which helps to promote a high level of relaxation (tendon-reflex). Muscles are therefore lengthened while in a functional and active position, while activating explosive muscle strength.
Can you explain the difference between an oscillating platform and a lineal platform?
  • There are two types of platform currently in the market the lineal and the oscillating. The lineal platform vibrates vertically up and down, whereas the oscillating platform works on a pivot in a see saw action. The oscillating platform is considered to be more therapuetic as it helps to increase mobility in the pelvis, encouraging skeletal realignment.
What is the difference between the platforms that cost up to $14,000 and the lower cost machines?
  • Both have a 3 year warranty and come with a user manual which includes a varitey of poses you can do. Both platforms use 'weight bearing vibration technology', although some are commercial grade machines, for use in heavy traffic areas such as gyms and clinics. These commercial grade machines use highly concentrated vibrations, suitable for use by athletes up to 3 x weekly. Whereas the smaller machines can be used daily at home or in aged care situations.
What is the difference between your machines and other ones I see advertised?
  • Since the introduction of the Vitality range, there have been a number of 'copycat' platforms entering the market. There are numerous factories in China making platforms; producing platforms of various quality. They may look the same, however there are differences worth noting before you decide to make your purchase. These 'no-name' brands have not been manufactured to "Vitality Approved Product" standards. Our 'standards' are a stringent quality control with the manufacturer and this enables us to offer a 30 day money back guarantee and a 3 year warranty. Our supplier has a large range of products and has been around for over 15 years and is therefore not a 'fly-by-night company.
